Welcome !

Today we welcomed six new children in the kindergarten of Don Bosco Sihanoukville.

These children are coming from the Missionaries of Charity Sisters in Phnom Penh. The Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa’s sisters) are running an AIDS and TB care facility 8 km outside Phnom Penh as well as an orphanage in downtown of the Cambodia capital. This shelter in downtown is a home to children who have being orphaned as a result of their parents dying of AIDS, abandoned children or whose families cannot care for them,  as well as HIV infected women who are living their last days.

The sisters ask Salesians of Don Bosco to take care of some children when they need a place to live for a long period of time. Some of these children do have a family.  In the future, if the Missionaries of Charity Sisters will realize that the families’ situation is improved and can finally take care of their children, we will let them go home because the best place to live for children is in their own family!

Pisey (3 years old), Kem Sothanith (3 years old), Tot Srey Leang (3 years old), Buth Phayuth (4 years old), Pisey Tola (4 years old) and Pisey Somavatey (6 years old) were lovingly welcomed by the other children happy to have new friends! We hope the best for them and for their adaptation in their new family at Don Bosco Children home.

Any support to sponsor one of the children is most appreciated.
