  • Volunteers Visit The Sponsored Children In The Outside Provinces

Over the last month and a half volunteers have been continuing to visit the sponsored children in the outside provinces. Being able to spend time with the children and the teachers that look after them has been a joy for all those involved. The students were not shy but quite the opposite, interested by western faces they all quickly huddled up to the volunteers asking them what their names were and how they were in perfect English. Thavam a volunteer from India is continuing these visits over June and sending the admin team here lots of photos making us all very envious.
While most of the children are continuing to go to school, a lot of their fellow students are on the verge of stopping. The prominent reason is poor economic condition of the family due to which children from the age of 14 go to work in the garment factories or as construction workers. Some of them also have taken up fishing as an occupation. This is why your sponsorship is so important. It helps to take away the pressure of stopping school early to get work.
